Shake awake scopes

I've committed this blunder several times now. With my scopes with illuminated reticle, I forget to turn off the illumination. Yes, I try to remember but at times between excitement, conversations, reloading, phone, and family happenings. I did a search on the internet and my net kungfu is not strong at all. A lot of red dot stuff. I did find something from PA. What is out there for shake awake scope options? Why wouldn't this be a feature to enable on most illuminated scopes? If holosun can jam that feature into little tiny red dots, why not illuminated scopes?

My buddy needs one of these. He forgets to turn his little neon sign off every shoot. He forgets to buy batteries for it and his reticle dosent light up for weeks. When he finally replaces the battery the battery cap vibrates off and gets lost in the dirt.

Then he knocks his tin of pellets on the ground looking for it.

He needs a new gadget to make sure his other gadget turns off. It will make the perfect stocking stuffer!

Add that to the $50 you spend for illumination and you could afford to buy more pellets.

One aspect is that a "truck gun" is going to see vibration while you drive.

I solved this issue years ago and quit buying illuminated scopes.

I must admit that I went to the Primary Arms website just to take a closer look.
They had one "open box" for about 2/3 the price, shipped free.

I think I've only once left a scope on for the battery to drain.

The more electronic gizmos you use, the more likely it is you'll have to deal with an exotic failure of some kind. These motion sensors are like what they use in video game consoles these days, and if you've played enough video games you know the motion sensors slowly degrade.

I need to use what keeps me shooting in the environments I like. As I've moved into my later 40's into 50's, I'll take the gizmos and widgets. Right now a springer and or pcp with magnification and illumination keeps me very happy shooting projectiles. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to shoot much at all. Shake awake is a feature I find has value. Guess the market and demand will set the tone regardless of my preferences for enjoyment. Eventually, I'd like to get into day / night scopes before my time is up.

I have a shake awake red dot and don't like it. Riding in my truck it was always on. I think it broke cause now I have to turn it on manually which is OK with me. Handy in theory but for me ended up being worse

I always remove batteries from electronic devices that sit for long periods. I absolutely will not use any DURACELL products. Total crap.
If you store your rifle on a rack, you could always cut a piece of one by two about the length of your rifle and when you take your rifle off your rack, put the one by two on the rack and it would have on it with a Sharpie “ Turn off scope idiot”. Or some kind of reminder like that.

For self defense on a handgun its quite a neat feature. On my Holosun 507 I have the illume set for the dim light and the batteries last seemingly forever. It also has a light sensor and solar panel so as soon as it's bright enough outside it goes to the proper intensity for daytime.

Same, I bought a used Leupold AR Mark 1 with the green dot. Its an amazing stalker scope.

Need to sell mine, I don't like the reticle...too big and bulky. I like a open reticle, or super fine cross hair in the center.

I have both a Holosun 507 and 510, both in green. I like 'em both, but the 507 has to come off the gun when you replace the battery.

Mine is the HE507C-GR X2 and it has the slide out battery compartment so this 507 doesn't need to be removed for battery replacement.

my 507 is older, maybe its time to upgrade.
