Tuning Share your FX Maverick .30 Cal Compact power settings

Looks like for the 30 cal Compact, the 95 fpe is advertised with the slug kit and dual port, but I wonder what can be achieved with otherwise stock parts .

My 30 cal compact is currently pushing 44.5 gr Hybrids at 865 fps, ~74 fpe with the following configuration:

  • Working reg set at 135 bar (digital gauge)
  • Power Wheel on #7
  • HT screw at 2 turns out
  • Stock 30 cal transfer port and probe
  • Stock 30 cal hammer weight

Has anyone tried higher reg pressures or other settings? Have you been able to achieve higher energies with heavier slugs? Please share your findings.

Thank you

I barely tested mine in compact out of the box. I only did a base string with no adjustments, and it was shooting 48 grain pellets around 860 and the reg was at 150 bar from the factory. I modified the stock barrel port by elongating it towards the rear(due to probe seating depth), added about 2g more hammer weight, and opened up the factory probe. After that it would do 96 fpe maxed out with the reg at 155 bar with 63.2 grain slugs. It was very happy backing the power down to 85 fpe, fwiw. With a pin probe/hammer weight/Huma(or modified) barrel port it will do a little over 100 fpe maxed out in compact(160 bar reg). The hottest tune my compact is happy at is around 90 fpe. Much more than that and it is an air hog. I could take the gun a little farther, if I opened up the valve seat. Pertaining to your specific question(with stock parts), I'd guess 85-90 fpe is the upper limit. With modified factory parts and a heavier hammer weight, it starts approaching 100 fpe with a 160 bar reg. I hope that helps 😉
