Sharing P-Rod Build

I just wanted to share my P-Rod build as I finally got to installing the LW barrel I received about 2 months ago from JSAR. They did a beautiful job machining the barrel for what I would call a 99.5% ready to fit. The port hole is off by maybe 0.01". Digressing here.........

It started off life as a Woods Walker but I realized quickly the stock was a joke made for 7 foot giants with 3 foot long arms. First step of the process was installing a Huma Reg for consistent shots. I needed to upgrade the stock thought, badly. In search of a stock I discovered Steve Corcoran. I contacted Steve via email and had an awesome back and forth email going - what a genuinely nice guy. He told me that he had stopped making custom stocks - OH NO! - but pointed me to his website where he still had a few P-Rod stocks available already made. I choose this laminated Royale Jacaranda stock and was 10x amazed how it looked when it came in. It shoulders beautifully and is a true joy to use. After the stock purchase I wasn't sure I wanted to put more money into this gun as I already have a couple of really nice PCPs. But to have a gun that just shoots meh with a beautiful stock like that was a true crime. So next steps, more power and more accuracy. I ordered an upgrade valve from Hill and a LW chocked barrel from JSAR. The Hill valve came fast and wow can this valve breath fire into a P-Rod. The barrel required a much more patient wait - about 3 months till I got it, then I was in the middle of a move and so I just got to installing it. This gun now shoots the way it really should - an I'm poor, lol.

I decided to tune it for the new JSB .22 Diablo 15.89gr pellets. Right now I'm at 1,800psi and 750fps for a touch under 20fpe. I've only shot it at 14 yards indoors but hole on hole which is significantly down from the .75" or so groups I got before.

Very nice small rifle! It is sad that Steve C. no longer makes stocks. He is a truly craftsman, and a while back he made 4 pistol stocks(FX Ranchero) for me in Black walnut from a scetch that I sent him. I didn`t have high expectations, but he more than fullfilled my wishes. I do not know why he ended his production, hopefully he is just taking a break...…..?

Oh My.... any more money I spend on my P Rod I'm going to blame on you LOL....Sweet looking rig!! I have to myself myself lucky as my Prod at 25 yards is not exactly but dang close to pellet gun pellet.

My stock barrel was very pellet picky and did the best with H&N. I can't wait to get outdoors and stretch this out past 20 yards. Anything under pellet on pellet shouldn't really be that hard on a scoped rifle.
