After a year of use on my Shelden Compressor, I am very pleased. Tuning and building guns requires alot of air. One of the reasons I went with the Shelden was fill times and frequency of maintenance. 1 year of regular use to fill my Tiger Shark and Guppy has only resulted in 3 hours and 50 minutes of run time. Topping off both tanks from 3000-4700 is averaging 12 minutes with 20-30 seconds of cool down before shutting the compressor down.
The scheduled maintenance for the dryer/filter is every 30 hours. I am far from that, but wanted to check the molecular sieve. It is very evident that I had no need to open the filter and can easily trust the maintenance schedule, but will probably still change it out every year just because filter changes are cheap and piece of mind is very valuable. The oil is to be changed every 40 hours and again, there was no need to change after less than 4 hours of run time. I will probably continue yearly oil changes as well. The rebuild schedule is 2000 hours, but I will never see that many hours of use, so I have no concerns about rebuilds in my lifetime.
If I had it to do all over again, I would have purchased the exact same compressor. I can honestly say I have zero complaints. No leaks or issues at all. Fast fill times and easy maintenance has been worth the money.
