SHERIDAN BLUE STREAK/SILVER STREAK

Hi,I am NEW HERE,my name is Dan and I live in NORTHWEST INDIANA. I am amazed that pellet guns are so big in demand? I had a pumper crossman when I was young and moved up to .22s. I never looked back at a pellet gun again , now 60yrs has passed and I wanted to get another one for rabbit hunting. MAN how things have changed. Companies have made a BIG DEAL about their pellet guns. I had only 2 or 3 choices when I was young , now there is a million of them. So I have to post 10 messages or something before I can look for a pellet gun.But I tell you what, this opened up me to a whole new world .I want to stick with a BENJAMIN BLUE OR SILVER STREAK because I can easily get repair parts from what I see. I hunt coyotes ,barn rats , squirrels for fun.

Welcome to the best AGN

Welcome to the forum. I have a bluestreak I've had for around 50 years. It's a nice gun but mine only develops about 15 fpe. More like 50 fpe is recommended for coyotes. It would work for rabbits and squirrels. I don't think it's offered anymore but there is a pump up that gets good reviews. I think Pyramid Air has them. I prefer PCPs. You are right, there are a lot available. A 25 caliber PCP can get you to 50 fpe or more.

My favorite is the Stoeger Bullshark. Actually I use P35s but they are very similar. The bullshark has a 40mm longer barrel, however which would be nice on the 25 to get it at least very near 50 fpe. The P35X has a longer barrel and a much bigger plenum and would easily make 50 fpe but they were out of stock last I looked. A Umarex Zellos is a different looking gun made by SPA like the others I'm suggesting and should easily get to 50 fpe in 25 caliber. One of these guns and an inexpensive ($100 or so) handpump would get you shooting for $500-600. They are all reliable guns likely needing only an O-ring occasionally. But parts are not easily available for SPA guns.

I’m just curious, there are states you can’t hunt small game like squirrels and rabbits with an airgun?
Washington State just made cottontails legal for air rifles a couple of years ago, but only for .22 to .25 caliber guns. They also began to allow forest grouse to be taken under the same rules. Those are the only small game animals that are legal. There are other small animals that aren't classified as "game" animals that are legal. They are considered "unclassified" animals.

That’s crazy and what someone else said about New Hampshire. Guess I shouldn’t be surprised, especially the states where these dumb regs seem to be coming from.
