Sheridan Sheridan Model C Photo Request

It would be a tall order for me to hit anywhere in the orange at 50 yrds with open sights. Well done!
Thank you. Six months ago I couldn’t either. Recently had cataract surgery. Now I can see again. Not quite as good when I was young (20/10) but close (20/15).

How does it compare to a stock Sheridan for accuracy? & what's the fps?
Ill have to check, because I don't recall the fps. I want to say just over 700 for eight strokes, and 400 for four stroke, but it has been quite while back.
The accuracy doesn't change. Tim says to make sure you have a keeper before you send it for a Steroid job.
Tim replaces the pump with an adjustable pump similar to the one that the 55 has, then he adjusts it to a tight tolerance. They're hard to pump past five strokes.
👍

I’m not certain how or if it’s even possible to physically see if one is a steroid. I’m assuming this one is because of its power. Eight pumps yields over 700fps and fifteen does 825+. Both exhaust all spent air. I can’t imagine it’s a stock gun. I have a custom 22 that I know is a steroid and it achieves these numbers with 14.3 CPHP. This one is obvious because of the cocking knob. Else it would be difficult to know.

I've noted some of the Mac1 Steroid changes here earlier in this article.
I'm not sure if it's just mine or all vintage C models, wether they got the full Steroid treatment, as mine still retains the original pump arm which I was thinking Tim changed in a Steroid.

The gun that you have pictured there is not a vintage Sheridan, but that is popular project gun for Tim's Steroid upgrade.

A Sheridan C model Steroid has a black steel tube plug replacement.

A C model has a replacement adjustable pump, set to a close tolerance.

A Steroid C model won't pump unless it is cocked. It also produces more power, and is more difficult to pump.
That's about it. 👍

Oh my! Thanks for posting! In fact I should have mentioned; hold down safety models welcome.
looks like maybe a '50-'52 Model C and a '53-'55 CBW?
Sounds about right. I dated them but not sure where the log is I put the details in.

I've got a nice Rocker as well. Should have got better shots of both sides of the stock. Figure carries thru on both sides.

I was plinking with a Model C and figured I'd add to this thread.
Have you determined this guns year model?
Its older than my 55.
It looks like it has a straight butt pad cut.
(Pre-55)
Knurled sight knobs.
(Pre-53)
Forearm attached with rol pins.
(After 52)
The list that I have doesn't mention the under cut front sight, but the 55s front sight came after the undercut sight.like yours; then was replaced again in 63.

Can you post the following photos of your gun; full photo of both sides of gun, closeup photos of the receiver (both sides), and a 3/4 shot of the trigger and trigger guard?

I think the screws in the forearm were from 1949-1952. I don't recall how long the knurled windage knobs were featured but know it was only for the first few years. It's not a slab stock so probably a 1952.

My list shows the slab stock to be used only in the first production year.1949.
The list i am accessing is on Wikipedia. Heres a photo from page one of the (C) Model.
