🌳Sherwood Airgunners🌳 match report for September 11, 2022

Match Report for September 11 2022.

With Northeast Ohio's premier field target event the Burning River 120 right around the corner, this months match was made intentionally LOOOOONNNNGGGGG for a good tune-up for this Grand Prix. The course was set up with 9 targets over 50yds and 6 others between 45-49 yards. This with plenty of technical small KZ targets between 3/8-1/2" made this course a blistering 36.3 Troyer rating. With lots of rain the night before we were lucky to get a break in the weather from mid morning to early afternoon just enough time to get almost the entire match in without any precipitation. The last few lanes it was drizzling but not enough to effect our shooting. With the Troyer rating so high we were very lucky not to have much wind at all. For the most part it was a very pleasant day to shoot minus a little mud from all the rain the previous night.

Despite the course difficulty guys were still up for the challange and we had some very good scores! This month I'm going to mention the best first because it's very well deserved. In Open Piston shooting a Air Arms TX200 and custom Macaroni stock and Nightforce ATACR scope Tyler Patner shot a exceptional score of 57/60. This score on this course was truly some world class shooting...something we have come to expect from Tyler.

In Open PCP we had 3 shooters with Gary Palenkas taking top honors shooting a awesome score of 56/60 using his Rapid Air Weapons TM 1000. We are blessed to have Gary at our matches in the summer as he resides in Florida over the winter months.

In Unlimited Class Tim Baylor also shot a very good score with a 55/60. Tim was the only one shooting this class this month but recently this class has a few shooters per match.

We had 2 shooters in WFTF PCP with Keith Walters besting Lucas Marusiak by 3 shots ending with a decent 52/60. It was a pleasure shooting with Lucas and seeing the strides he's made in shooting this year. With the World WFTF Championship in the USA in 2024 these 2 are trying to up their game and be competitive in this division. Keith shot a Thomas topped with a Match 10-60x scope.

Hunter PCP had 11 competitors one of those Ken Santo shooting in his first match at Sherwood. Appreciate the support Ken and looking forward to seeing you in the near future. Doug Cunningham took first place with a solid score of 52 with his Daystate Red Wolf. We had a tie for second place with Jeff Little and Justin Roberts both shooting a 51 and both shooting Daystate rifles.

I would like to thank everyone that made the trip on a somewhat iffy weather day and congradulate the crew at Sherwood for putting together another great match. It's great knowing people enjoy shooting at 🌳 Sherwood Airgunners🌳 and our efforts are appreciated by fellow airgunners.
