Shipping cost?

Fuel and labor cost hit the USPS just like FedEx and UPS. It is a lot cheaper than driving your F150 several states away to get them over the counter.

The vendor also has to pay labor rates. It ain't gonna get better, ever

Then why can the other vendor ship for free if the order is over $25?

Not sure what you mean by free shipping over $25. Most major airgun site min is $150 to get free shipping. The only places I know that does free shipping over $25 is Amazon. But it doesn't apply to every items they sell. Only some items they sell qualify for free shipping. They make billions a year so they can do it. Why don't you pack 6 tins into a box and try to ship it. I bet you is gonna be $20, maybe more.

To me a lot depends on the item. Packing up tins of pellets in secure foam, etc. to avoid damage, sure $25 is not unreasonable. But often when buying a small item that can just be stuffed in a small box with a little paper filler, and shipped flat rate easily, that's too much. Then if you buy two of them or two items that fit in the same little box and they raise the shipping cost, That's not right either.

I have no doubt which company you are referring to. Their shipping cost are outrageous unless you are ordering large quantities. I think every parent of a international air or 3p competitor can safely guess who you are referring to.

Assuming you are talking about .177 pellets, each tin should weigh just a smidgeon over one pound. Throw in another pound for packaging. Seven pounds total.

Coincidentally, I shipped a package of ammo from Pittsburgh to Iowa today. It weighed just over 8 pounds. I do not have an account with them and I received no discount. It cost me $16.15.

My guess is their real cost was about $7.50 and $17.50 was profit.

Put that into a USPS Regional A box and it's about $9. The boxes are free and you can have USPS deliver them right to your house. Max limit on them is 15lb. The most I have paid for one of these boxes is to HI, $12.64
