I have always had air rifles and within the last 10 years have gotten I to regular firearms and always thought that airguns was the cheaper way to get Into firearms. Lately I have been finding out that there are airguns that surpass the pricetags of traditional arms. Who would've thought-- certainly not me

There are plenty of nice "economy models" in the airgun world. It's good to have these options for those of us on a budget. Used is another option that helps limit the wallet flattening.

Right?! I defend my hens to the death at this point. Then eat whatever I had to kill to save them. About to start urban hunting for free meat. Toss on the ghillie suit and camo cover the gun, nobody would see me! They're too busy playing on their phones anyhow.

Right! I might have to start skinning and eating the chipmunks I shoot in the summer instead of letting them lay for the skunks, coons and opossums

yeah it cracks me up to see the new guy all excited about 'saving money' on his new high dollar euro-trash airgun .. time he sets it up with air and tanks and those 'cheap' 25$ a tin pellets he couldve bought several decent firearms and a couple thousand rounds each lol ...ya .. big savings there

Being on fixed income I'm acutely aware of how much EVERYTHING costs now. In my mind it's downright CRIMINAL the way virtually all businesses are gouging us! That being said, I'm fortunate that I'm extremely satisfied with the 3 guns I own and at this point in my life I'm not going to be buying any more. PERIPHERALS are another matter. I try to keep a few bucks aside for the inevitable airgun needs or emergencies but, in general, I'm pretty well stocked. Glad I made all major purchases while I could afford it! This is definitely a pricey "hobby".

If all of them are gouging, then it isn’t gouging. It is called inflation.
My business is run to make a profit, I don’t need the practice. In the last two years fuel is almost double, labor is up 35%, chemicals up 40% when I can get them and parts have doubled when available.
I had to buy two new drive engines for my equipment. Three years ago they cost $1,850 each. Three months ago they cost $3,799 each and now they are not even available and the mfg will not issue and ETA to dealers.
I understand how frustrating the current financial conditions are but please think before you blame businesses. We are dealing with the same conditions and along with our family we have to stay afloat to support our employees and their families.

Hilarious-probably $35 by now…
Ditto for me as well. A year and a half before I retired I switched from PB’s to airguns. Set myself up with a couple FX’s and an Alkin and some SCBA’s . Fortunately I caught it before prices started a rapid climb. Now, hopefully my needs will be just pellets.
