has anyone else had any issues with oil getting into the tank am i just using to much silicon oil on the self lubricating felt pieces

Sounds lie you're putting too much on. I now use one of those really small HPA filters with what looks like a cigarette butt filter in the front of it. I still use the lithium grease on mine but if I over lube I get some gray looking oil on about the first 1/4" of filter. Seems to stop it well.

How do you know the oil is getting in your tank? Just wondering because i think about that with my a/v compressor and worry if it happened would it be dangerous.

i found the hose had oil in it and i figure it should be safe silicon oil is what your suppose to use on a pcp gun

i was thinking of making a oil trap for it i run nitrogen in to the shoe box

I see oil in my Foster fittings too. Look real close and you will see it’s water bubbles covered with oil.

Here's one like I have. I had one of the big gold filters but it takes too much time to pressurize it. This one works much better in my opinion. I use the filter in the end and then fill the center with silica beads.

As long as it is 100% silicone ( and not in some crazy huge amount) GOOD. There is at least one company that makes one that inject silicone oil into the compressed air to keep things nice. I purchased a dryer with an adjustable silicone injection chamber after the dryer - between shop compressor and booster- as I like it that way. SLIGHTLY tricky setting it the first time but no issues.
