Shoebox ,shop compressor?

I'm looking for a good oiless compressor for my shoebox f8 that is quiet and able to supply 125psi to 140 psi without working its self to death.
Lol my loud as hell pancake compressor just took a dump.
I don't mind spending a reasonable about on one as long as it will work.

When I had my Shoebox I thought the recommended feed pressure was 85 psi? I used to set mr regulator on the compressor to that pressure and it didn't run the entire time. I had an earlier model than the F8 though.

I used a Rolair JC-10 with mine. I posted an old video of them running together on YouTube. Look on EBay for a refurbished California Air Tools compressor too. The Rolair was actually made by C.A.T. as well. The F8 and F10 both are made for 125 psi, not 85 psi like the Shoebox Max. My Rolair is quieter than the F8 and with it's regulator set at 125 psi it easily kept up with the F8's air requirement without running excessively.

I've been using a Sears Craftsman pancake for over 5 years with my original model Shoebox, seems fine. Compressor specs: 125 PSI, 3/4 HP, 4 Gallon.

I second the California Air compressor. I have the 4610a 1 hp 110v 2 cylinder oil-less model. It is a workhorse and is relatively quiet. It is also all Aluminum, so it is light.

Home Depot usually combines an air tool with their pancake compressor. I've had great luck with them, in this day and age like power tools they are probably from the same Chinese source.

I've used the Porter Cable pancake just saw ..8 HP with a 6 gallon tank, it should do all your needs. returning to a big box is easy.

Keep an eye on the max pressure listed in compressor specs. If it's 125 psi for example, that's the highest it gets, not the pressure it will maintain. The regulator will typically be set to not turn the compressor back on until some lower pressure, maybe 90 psi. Sometimes these are adjustable, but if your goal is to provide the ShoeBox with 125psi air continuously, you'll want to look at compressors with a higher max pressure, and hope the cut-in pressure is not much lower than 120 psi, or it can be adjusted ideally to 125 psi. 

I love how quiet those CAT compressors are, but there's only one 110V model that goes to 150 psi, and they don't specify the cut-in pressure (maybe 118 psi). Of course it's also one of their more expensive models.

I settled for the DeWalt model off eBay it's a refurbished but I don't care as long as it works.
The price is right too for what all it features for 250$ shipped .

When I was running my Shoebox, my pusher compressor was an oil-less Porter Cable pancake compressor, Man that thing was LOUD. However, any compressor that can deliver 85 psi to the Shoebox will do.
