N/A shooting BB tethered

Yes, whether I’m shooting long range, for accuracy, or tuning for max velocity with a perticular slug… I always shoot tethered. The only time I’m not tethered is when hunting.

What slugs are you slinging and what kind of accuracy & velocity are you getting?

Attached; 8” gong, 400 yards, 10 shots, 9 impacts… tethered.

I've settled on NSA 330s with this gun & was shooting at a 10" gong thru a diopter sight @ 100 yds...which is my club's longest firing lane. The peep sight definately pushes the limits of my vision and doesn't give much feedback on the gun's precision, but it was consistantly ringing the target. It was a lot of fun and I was reasonbly impressed.

It's still early spring here (snow on the ground), so it was a ad hoc session. I'll get more technical about it when the weather improves and maybe scope the gun.

Any suggestions on using/ getting the most out this tethered beast?

So…..
I have Big Bores, and I have 2 97 cu ft great white tanks.

I haven’t teathered before but this post has me wanting to do so on my Zeus.
What setup does one need to invest in to go teathered?
Here we are tuning a .72 cal Zeus. A high quality regulator, a couple of large air talks and my spreadsheet are all you that’s needed to start making one ragged hole. Note: The larger the caliber the more air you consume.

Can you provide a link to the regulator yall are using?
So all I have to do is set the regulator pressure for the rifle inline with the tank?
Sorry if I’m over simplifying, this is my first venture in this direction, normally I fill straight off the tank or worst case of my compressor

The reg will have both an in & out manometer. Hook everything up, open your tank valve and adjust your regulator (out) pressure to the BAR setting you desire. Super easy....

Thank you very much!
No probs

I like the Alteros enough to have ordered another one. The price-point was the biggie for me...tho anything Alkin would probably be worth the price of admission.

A booster was/ is on the radar. My thought was to step some tanks. I guess that decision, will depend on how much I get out of the tanks that I have.

IMO a regulator definately helps get the most out of your gun & time w an air hog and is a logical 1st step

...also, if you plan on shooting anything >250 BAR you probably should go w the Alkin. The Alteros is limited to 250 which is as much I as I need ATM

There are probably other options out there as well but Alteros is very reasonable over on their retail site & it arrived quckly from CZ. Grabbed some slugs too to make the shipping opitmal
I’m shootings my rile at 319bar on the high end and run 3 large air tanks at 450bar, this allows me to keep one tank on the compressor while shooting. I’ve been considering the booster pump and may add it to my toolbox as a backup.

450 BAR is insane & must really get the job done!!!

Yeah, I think w the trend towards higher & higher operating pressures that the Alkin would be a good investment for anyone serious about the activity. Not just for big bore either

That Alkin looks seriously beefy compared to the mini that the Alteros is...definately a once in a lifetime investment.

Ya my AirForce Texan may have a couple of small mods… lol.
I got sucked into the idea of finding and extending the rifles limits in distance shooting. I’ve taken jack rabbits as far out as 440 yards and can hit a man sized target out to 600… even in mild to medium winds gusting up to 15mph. I’ve definitely been having a lot of fun learning the rifles capabilities and seriously pushing its limits. And when I say it has a couple of small mods, that’s a huge lie as there’s almost nothing on this rifle that’s not been loved on, from custome porting hand casting slugs… it’s only time and money being flushed. 😂
