Shooting in 60mph winds

Went out with a friend today to test a new .22 Savage Model 64 PB that I bought. Brought my .25 Marauder and the little .177 umarex nxg agp too. The winds picked up and we kept shooting. The winds kicked up some more and we kept shooting. Before long I had shots where I was aiming 6-8 in right of the target and hitting at or just left of the target. It was the first time I had a vertical AND horizontal parabola. Winds were gusting over 60mph and visibility was about 30-40ft because of smoke and dust. And interesting day to say the least.

Thats crazy! Your in WA right? I'm in the San Juan's and we just got slammed by that same storm! The top of a big cedar tree snapped off about 25 feet from the top and missed my van by 15 ft. It is about 10 inches around at the break. That would have destroyed my rig. Crazy summer storm but is bringing us some badly needed rain. I wouldn't dream of shooting in that weather.

60 MPH winds would blow me away faster than those pellets coming out of my gun...I can not imagine shooting and hitting something with those winds, you must have a laser guided system installed in your gun!....

You in WA should send us those winds to clean the air....Man!, we are loaded with smoke coming from WA, OR and ID...The Jet Stream passes by this lake we get it all...We haven't seen the sun in 2 weeks and I can not see the end of my dock which is 130 ft. from my home (Flathead Lake) ...TERRIBLE summer and air quality, hard to shoot without sneezing, coughing or tearing eyes...If it doesn't improve by next week we will head out to Seattle...

By the way, I love the San Juan's ...Took a boat around the islands and all the way to Vancouver Island: Victoria and Nanaimo...GORGEOUS area!

AZ

We had about 5 minutes of pitiful rain drizzles Friday morning. It was the first measurable precipitation since February.

I was was cleaning the .22 last night and found that the scope hadn't been tightened so that explains the .22 accuracy issues. My Marauder I found to have clipped baffles. That might be contributing to the accuracy issues too. The windy conditions were likely a bigger part of the problem though.
