Shooting rest vs bipod

Good shooting.

I just got to use my new rest today for the first time and boy was it fun. Made plinking spinners easy(until the wind came).

Its a keeper in my book. I have a really nice shooting bag (cradle) that I was using before hand (Stoney Point Shooting Bag 11.25"(L) x 10.75" (H) x 7.5" (W)) and while I will continue to use that, but for shooting for groups I REALLY like the rest.

When I shoot competition at 100 yrd with my FX boss .30 I always use the bipod instead of the front rest. Why you askl? well simple, when it is windy, I can react quicker and put together a string on a hold I know will produce quality points. Many of my targets will have multiple pellets through the same hole when I shoot this way. You hae to be quick to react, maybe 8-12 seconds 15 max but that is what the bipod will do for you. If it was a totally calm day, the front mechanical rest would be of a greater advantage due to the time to set up and get your shot situated correctly. I still prefer the bipod on the Boss and love the way it responds with that hold.
