Reckn sticks rock solid but pricey.Need ideas...Show me your shooting stix (plz)
Bonus points if home made.
I too use Trigger sticks . Tall & Short bipods & the tripod model that comes with a shoulder slung carry case. Of all brands I've tried ( in my price range ) I stickI have the Primos trigger stick but I actually prefer a 6ft handle off a old garden tool sanded down with a leather thong for my hand. Its lighter and quicker to use just grip and shoot off hand. Put a rubber tip in the end works great for squirrel hunting.
Perfect! Castration rings appear to be the secret ingredient.I made a couple sets like in the video below. Had around $5 in parts for each set. For some protection I did a little upgrade with heavy duty heat shrink tubing over the ends where your rifle will rest to reduce chance of stock getting dinged up. They are very light and easy to deploy. Best of all they are very easy on the wallet!
yup, I'm probably going to go w some iteration of this.If you want homemade, go to Tractor Supply. Get a couple of electric fence posts and a bag of castration bands. Band them together 19-12” from the end. Spread them apart to use them. The pointed end will keep it steady. Aa couple friends had these when we went shooting ground squir.
I tried several different types of garden sticks. I found some that were a thin metal tube coated in green plastic. Those had the least amount of "flex" but were still very light.yup, I'm probably going to go w some iteration of this.
Simple and solid....and not overpriced pairs of bound sticks like some that are offered
