Shooting Sticks

So you guys using the Trigger Stick just plunk down into your firing position and release the legs on it to set it?

I could see that as something to put in a pack
As I mentioned above, I made some from garden sticks and like them for walking for ground squirrels on mine and neighbors property. I also have a set of 3 leg trigger sticks and use those when I sit and wait for the critters to poke their heads up!

Garden stakes, 3/4" plastic coated metal. Solid.
Protect your rifle with some pipe insulation.
Boy Scout knot that allows opening.
A small cord at the bottom to define the opening with a slip knot.
Once set for a shooting position and level, you just open them, sit down and shoot.
No sweat, no fuss, no mess.
MUCH more solid than any commercially made ones, and I have tried a few.
Total cost: about $10

Yes .. but not exactly either :cautious:
Ideally how you sit, amount of natural body slump etc you allow to happen, THEN ADJUST the legs length to get a natural sight picture.
* YOU ALWAYS want to have the same posture, point of elbow contact to knees ( hunter class off shoulder ) or any other personal techniques be shot to shot as closely duplicated as you can. The trigger stick allows these subtle changes to happen w/o having to shift you body position !!! This a Stellar important if one wishes to shoot off sticks with any degree of consistent accuracy.
