Got home from work about 5:30 and my 9 yo grandson was there and wanted to go shooting. So I said grab your gun. After airing up his Prod and my Huben .22 we took off for a local farm.
As soon as we pulled in I saw about 5 or 6 pigeons take off. One landed on top of a grain truck about 25 yards away and just sat there looking at us. We got out and loaded his Prod then he leaned on my front fender to line up and take a shot. Bingo. Down it came. First pigeon for him.
I managed to shoot three in the cow pen but couldn't recover them. Then we walked up the hill to a pond to try and get some frogs. Hes been obsessed lately with killing and eating a bullfrog. Sure enough they were sitting everywhere on the bank. He shot 1 and I shot 5 but only recovered 4 total. The others made it into the water and I couldnt retrieve them. Probably saw 20.
When we got home he wanted to skin them , and eat them so we did. Now his older sister wants to go too. Looks like I'm going to be busy. But I love it.
