Short range focus for prism sights?

I have a few prism scopes...
WHY...do you want a 4x scope shooting 3 yards ??? You'll be looking at the rats eyeballs !

At 4x, it depends on the design. If it has a distance adjustment, then MAYBE, yes. The Element scopes have this.
If you have a scope with no distance adjustment, then probably not with 4x
The 3x, you'll be close at that close distance for a crisp picture.

At 3 yards, I'd just stick with a 1x or 2x.

A few thoughts.

Element Optics is said to be coming out with a 3x version of their Hypr-7. Presumably it will have side focus like the current 7x.

I have an inexpensive Monstrum 3x. Looking through it indoors at three yards shows a decently in focus image & no noticeable parallax error. However, if wanted to try to use it at three yards often I would find a cheap flip up cap & center drill a small aperture to see if the change in depth of field improved focus. Of course this will likely affect light gathering.

Lastly, I agree that 3x seems excessive for close range like that.
