Shot some Neilson slugs with my Cricket 2 today.....

I ordered some Neilson slugs to try in my Cricket 2 .22 cal., I got them today and tried them on my woods range. I got some 17.5 grns. .216's and some .2165's and the .216's are the winner of the day. I tried each size by starting at lower fps and worked up to where they were the most accurate...the .2165's were not really bad but the .216's were the most accurate, shooting them at 965 fps. They came just in time as me and my son in law got a new permission for squirrel hunting and we had planned to go there tomorrow... These slugs are really small but they pack a good punch when they hit a steel target, they should do good for squirrels...I can't wait until tomorrow to try them out...

I don‘t know what it is but I love shooting this Cricket….I also have a brand new M3 .25 cal. that I tuned and it shoots lights out with the 33.95 JSB’s but I like shooting this Cricket more for some reason…

Nice looking gun and groups, good luck with the hunt. BTW where did you get the charging handle at or did you make it ? I could use one on my Tact II 60.

Thanks..... we went on the hunt yesterday and it was Awesome....we got our limits of squirrels....I got four grays and two huge fox squirrels and my son in law got five grays and one fox squirrel...I'm going to smoke them this evening on my Traeger pellet grill....
Those little Neilson slugs do pack a punch out of the Cricket...
Yes, I did machine the charging handle on my Cricket, it actually makes the cocking a lot smoother as you have more leverage with it....I also made the moderator.... I machined a monocore with machined aluminum k baffles and used carbon fiber for the outer tube, it works really well.
