Shotgun Airgun Hunters. Hello!!! Anybody Out There?

Where are the AGN shotgun hunters? The hunting forum is full of pesters of pesky rodents and invasive species birds. Then there are the deer, squirrel, and rabbit hunters and a few turkey hunters. But where are the quail, grouse, pheasant, duck, and geese hunters?

Below are some interesting links on the topic. These links showcase a few air powered shotguns and their capabilities.

PBBA Pro knocking geese out of the sky. I enjoyed this one.

UpNorth Airgunner discussing tungsten shot for turkey hunting and demonstrating the spread from a Seneca Wing Shot II

I’ll add more links as I come across them. It doesn’t seem that the air powered shotgun gets much love here. Since this is Airgun Nation, let’s do something about that. I don’t know much about air powered shotguns, but I’ve been curious about them for a little while now. I don’t expect them to put out 12 gauge PB power, but I think they have their place in small game and avian hunting. Here is where I want to see what’s going on. If you have experience hunting small game and especially fowl with air powered shotguns, let’s hear about it. In fact let’s see some photos.

if I remember correctly the dragon claw is a rifle barrel, but I would think that with the capsule hopefully stay intact until it leaves the barrel.. otherwise it will lead up the rifling.. unless you use tungsten shot, that would probably take out the rifling..
I'd think spread would be like a non choked barrel.. used to have a 28 gauge or 51 caliber smooth barrel Farco CO2 shotgun.. no choke so I shot shot or slugs.. 50 caliber plastic sabot and 454 slug.. I think it would get around 20-/+ shots per charge..
I don't have it anymore, would be a great collector item now..
I do have a 22 Gamo varmint shotgun and it shoots 22 pellets with a brass adapter or the plastic shot shells.. I reload the shot shells with 5 BB and I use a piece of the potato starch packing peanuts for wads.. the reloads are much more impressive than the #12 factory loads.. I got it mainly for timber rattler.. and at 10 yards I think factory loads are fine for me..

Well roll me in flour and fry me in hot oil! I had no idea that air shotguns were as capable as the one Sparky is shooting!
Just looked it up on AofA and they are not giving them away.
No they aren’t giving them away. They cost some coin. From what I recall they aren’t in stock there either. I haven’t seen anywhere that has any. The PBBA site still has something on there about a 2022 sale. Does anyone sell these guns? Are they still being produced?

@gendoc How is the spread? Does it take any chokes? What sort of shot have you used?
about basketball size @ 10yrds with #8 shot.
opens up 200% at 20yrds. no chokes, no need for one for what i use it for.

with capsules, the lead never touches the rifling.....just the plastic capsule does.
and i only have shot it on low power.

i have a friend that has a dragon claw and his results are poor with my loads.

Id really like to buy a Used Umarex Hammer and convert to a shot gun. I think it would be awesome in shotgun form. Shooting trap tethered to big scba tank and regulator would be no problem 🙂
@Reedmosser Check out the Umarex Primal. I don’t think it’s been released yet but was introduced during SHOT Show 2022 I think.
