Should I buy a handpump with higher bar than the rifle?

get the Hill MK5, with the filter. costs 4x as much, but it'll outlast your gun.
IMO, stay away from the $50 junk they sell on Amazon unless you enjoy repairing them regularly.
and the Hill pumps are WAY easier, smoother, less overheating than the el-cheapo version.

To fill a 200bar pcp... Is it better to choose a 200bar handpump or a 250bar? And what will be the difference between these two?
The more stages it has the easier pumping will be. You can stop at any bar. Think future proof.
ps. If they offer a rebuild kit, good to have as seals tend to go at some point even if it's years later at least you have it.

Really ?
......I had 8 HILL pumps over the years from MK II to MK IV, they all failed way faster then my cheap China pumps,
all developed severe pitting on the main tube in short order, all needed a re-build in 6 months and a re-build kit was 38 buck plus shipping ( so the same price of a new China pump )

My current China pump has been going strong for 3 years and all I had to do was change twice the check valve o-ring and that takes all but a couple of minutes.

to buy a HILL nowadays is pointless in my opinion,.....hardcore handpumper for over a decade and a half, as mentioned had 8 Hills, also 2 FX and a couple Hatsans, the current 50 bucks China pumps are the way to go !

150 million percent disagree. The hill is no better and that filter that is supposed to dry the air coming into the pump well yeah right, pretty pointless in my opinion. I’ve had my China pump a year and a half and have only replaced 2 orings in it that took about 10 minutes.

Yep, why pay 4 or more times the price for essentially the same thing and no better support?

As much as I dislike what China is doing to the world, I only have so much money... so I have to get the most value for every dollar.

I am not rich like these folks plopping down thousands of $$$$$ for a single airgun and a $$$$$ compressor and having many more than one such $$$$$ gun as if it was like buying a pack of chewing gum or an order of small fries from McDonalds.

Kavliaris ,

Do pop over to this page:
for in depth information. One difference will be effort per stroke as different pumps displace slightly different amount of air per stroke + big difference in effort & not a great (but some) increase in need strokes.

Absolutely go low cost NO reason for the name brands to cost so much period.

Owned the original Hill (still pissed) , FX, gen II, .... and this one for 7 years:

To be fair, I have two of this very "brand" (Vevor). The first one is excellent! The second one... well, it is a backup and takes many more strokes to get the same pressure.

Also, although they are Vevor, I have NO DOUBT that all of them are made at the same factory and "branded" after the fact. Just look at them on Amazon... (smile)

So, I guess I am saying that there is some risk when buying the cheap pumps, but over all, you will likely still end up saving money and have a good pump or 2. (grin)

Here is one for $77:

I bought all three to test them all, ended up keeping the $77 one and returned the rest (i live near Amazon fresh so returns are easy) because it was slightly better in coating, and my wife claims it doesnt ruin her interior as much compared to the cheaper one….
