Side lever guns

Those of you that have side levers? If the lever is back in the cocked position, Left there, Can you pull the trigger and the gun fire?

If you are talking about a gun like the crown or wildcat, yes. But I never just let it slap. I decock the gun by catching the lever when the trigger is pulled.

Yes, as an example. you pull the side lever back, refill a mag, Insert the mag. Lever is still back, forget that the lever is back. Can you pull the trigger

Yeah I did that by accident with the Royale as well when I first got it.

The only gun that I can think of that wouldn't would be the Steyr LG110.

Depends on the gun. That is how my Cricket de-cocks. Pull lever all the way, pull trigger, push lever back into place.

Not on the HW100, it cocks on closing

yes thats right , once cocked the HW100 you can decock it by pulling the lever back again and while holding the trigger slowly push lever forward. it will release the hammer spring tension. that gun will not double load.

Thanks guys I was wondering because the Daystate will fire with the bolt open. Also found that the detente ball on the bolt has to have pretty good tension or the bolt can and has come open when firing.

My Hatsan Bullboss has the same decocking procedure, so it will also fire if you're not holding the side lever back when you pull the trigger. Also, on the bullboss, if you adjust to trigger to a VERY light pull, you run the risk of it firing on it's own once cocked. Mine has done this multiple times, once even when it was loaded. Safety was on, and hand no where near the trigger. Since then I have increased the trigger pull and have had zero issues.
