Western Airguns Sidewinder Slug Diameter and length for .22 and Thread size for Moderator?

Anyone know what the .22 likes best as far as slug diameter and what's the max length slug to go in?

Will .216 slugs slide forward and jam the cycling?

Also looking for what thread size is on the end, it's not 1/2x20 and wanted to get someone to make a custom adapter to 1/2x20

Thanks.
I don't know the thread but if you find out I can probably make the adapter, I just don't have much metric threading tools.. my lathe is standard quick change so I can cut pretty much all American threads..

I've tried a few slugs in my .22 Sidewinder, and noe have done better than JSB Monster Resigned pellets. All I have tried have been .218s, as even .217s slide forward in my mags . . . before shooting any, I suggest loading up a mag and then tapping it on the edge of a table such that any loose slugs can slide forward, and if any slide far enough forward to stick out, then don't shoot them unless your barrel is installed absolutely flush in the receiver (which makes it a noticeably louder when shot -slightly proud makes for better results, at least in mine).

As for the barrel thread, I don't know but plan to check with the factory moderator I took off - I just need to remember to take it to the hardware store with me. Looking at it, my guess is 12 or 13 x1 mm, but I'm not sure. AoA sells an adapter for it - it does work well for tensioning the barrel too.

Thanks - do you happen to know the max length for the mag?

I measure the mag, without the cover, as being 11.4 mm / 0.451" thick, so that would be the limit. Personally, I'd want to be at least a smidge shorter than that in case there is any movement in cycling.

Mine also shoots the JSB Beasts really well, and I measure those at 10.7mm long, leaving 0.7mm of gap. I've only shot a few mags of them, but I did not not have a jam.

As a side note, one way to guarantee a jam is to forget to put the cover back on . . . from personal experience! I did this once and the blast near my head scared the crap out of me, caused pellets in the mag to spill out all over, and led to a jam bad enough that I had to back the barrel out to free it up. No harm in the end, but I sure don't want to do that again - now when the cover comes off it stays right next to the mag.

Anyone know the thread size on the Sidewinder?

Thanks.
I took my factory moderator into the hardware store to test it out and verify the barrel thread for you, but did not exactly have perfect luck - they did not have a bolt that matched it. That said, I was able to confirm that the thread pitch is 1.0 mm, and I'm pretty sure the major diameter is 12.0 mm. The only 12.0 mm bolt they had was in a 1.5mm pitch, so it would not thread in, but looked to line up properly in size. I was able to use a 6x1 bolt to verify the thread pitch perfectly.

That's the best I can do right now . . .

I appreciate the effort, that's above and beyond!
