I was thinking of buying a Sightron III because of the over 200 degree of rotation for field target can some people post a picture of there wheel at the 40 to 55 yard range I was told there were good spacings?

It’s pretty tight. Ditch the 5” wheel that comes with it and get a minimum 6” round wheel or one of the nautilus style wheels. Those help but still tight. I have two of them. The first is one of the early models that focuses from 9-55 yards. The second I got 9 months ago and it focuses from 10-300 yards. You want the latter (which is how they are all made now). Both are tight on spacing at the longer ranges. They are a decent scope but over rated. They don’t really snap in and out of focus so you have to work at it. Plenty of FT shooters use them though and do well. I never liked my first one much and bought the second as a needed a decent scope and it was on sale. I like it better than my first one. The only difference is the second is the 10-300yard focus. My gripes are I wish the gaps were bigger from 40-55yds. I wish it would snap in and out of focus a little better. The grub screws on the resettable turrets are tiny. I wish the side wheel that came with it was bigger so it would be more usable. The extended rubber eye shield is kind of useless (should have copied the Bisley style). It should have come with a sun shade. Mine are temperature sensitive. I am in the process now of figuring that out on the second scope. Of course it’s going to take me a year to do that as I go thru temperature swings thru out the year. Now that Sightron is rolling out the new S6 FT scope there may be some deals on the SIII’s. For the scopes in the price range of the SIII they are probably you best choice. I have 4 high mag scopes for FT. I have the two Sightron SIII, a Hawke Sidewinder 8-32x, and a Bushnell 4200 8-32x. The Bushnell is the best. It’s clearer, ranges better, not temp sensitive, and way lighter. Other than it is well made with good glass I think it is the fact that it is a long scope with a front adjustable objective. My thinking it is inherently a good design for ranging. My dream scope would be a modern version of the old Bushnell 4200 8-32x with a 30mm tube and 40x magnification. Done right it would be a killer.I was thinking of buying a Sightron III because of the over 200 degree of rotation for field target can some people post a picture of there wheel at the 40 to 55 yard range I was told there were good spacings?

The Sightron S6's have again been delayed into late August or September. The Athlon Ares ETR is on the same boat and around the same timeline.
I had paid for the ETR back in the middle of March and just asked for my money back. I don't believe Athlon or Sightron knows what is going on with them or at least they are not saying other than pushing the expected arrival dates out.
I shot field target with a friend of mines Element Titan and it has the same amount of rotation as the sighttron for half the price i have one now waiting for my JD wheel to come inSuper frustrating. I’m waiting for the S-6 and it keeps slipping.
