Silicone oil - best price per ounce?

Because of the silicone oil that came with the 3 Nova Vista Freedoms I still own, there is still about 1 and 1/2 bottles left.

However, and I have asked this question either here or on GTA before I was banned there...

Given that the small vessels of silicone oil are outrageously priced, where can one purchase silicone oil suitable for airguns (especially PCP) in bulk for a MUCH lower price per ounce?

What I am thinking is that several people might be able to go in together and buy a gallon or more and split the oil and cost. That HAS to be cheaper than buying .5 or 1 ounce for the prices you have to pay for those small amounts.

I simply hate to be ripped off and that is what they are doing with those tiny amounts of silicone oil.

Just a thought. (smile)

I small bottle goes a long ways.Ain't nobody going to go in to buy gallons, like how you going to send it,oh yea postage and there goes the savings
Outrageous,uh I remember when I had to buy Trombone slide oil , outrageous, but a sticky slide is no way to try and play a Boogie Woogie.Peace Out.
I buy many things by the gallon and postage is nothing compared to the price of .5 ounces of silicone oil before shipping. Are you serious? LOL!

Try your local RC Hobby shop. Shock oil. Think the bottle are like 2oz and last time I got one it was like $6. Still have over 3/4 bottle full. Plus they have lots of different weights.
There isn't a local RC Hobby shop in my area anymore AFAIK. The last one closed when the old guy who ran it died.

BTW, what *weight* is "normal" or *usual* for airguns? I really don't know because what I have been using for the last several years doesn't say on the bottle(s).

Thanks for the reply!

I purchased this for $12.95 for 2oz (sold out at this time) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Y215GVG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
it's low viscosity I was looking for high viscosity but didn't find anything at a good low price.

I read somewhere this is the same thing100% Silicone Treadmill Lubricant/Treadmill Lube

Thanks! Looks like I am going to get just about the same responses I got the last time I posted/suggested buying silicone oil in bulk.

Oh well... (smile)

As far as I can recollect, everyone seems to refer to 30wt silicone shock oil as the standard for PCP use.
I have never used it myself, but that it what I have heard time and again over the years.

Thanks! I'll try to keep that in mind... if my old mind can remember it at all without writing it down. (smile)

I don't know much about silicone oil, but what came with the NV Freedoms seems to be less viscous than 30wt, but that is just my assessment and I could definitely be wrong. In any case, for most applications I don't think it will matter that much. And there again, I could be wrong. (sigh)

Thanks again for the reply! (smile)

Oops...

So many rc hobby shops on line with so many brands pushing there oils its overwhelming in shockoils. From thinner then water to thick as paste. When I built and run 1/8 scale nitro buggies/truggies i like Team Associated stuff.

Also watch out for weights. Some are cst or wt, then Team Associated wt. So check a chart thing on that.
