Other Silicone oil

I looking to get whatever silicone is used to put a drop or two into the inlet of the gun to lube the o rings. I bought some Super Lube but failed to notice it is the grease, not oil so this isn't something I'd try to get into the cylinder via the fill nipple. Any recommendations on what to get?

Airsoft 100% silicone oil, life time supply. Super lube grease is great for o rings though. I prefer to disassemble to oil o rings personally.

Thanks, men! And to make sure I’m clear on this - before I charge up the gun, get a couple of drops into the Foster fitting and pressurize away so that this oil get blown into the gun, right? And do this every so often or every time the gun is charged.

Mike's right, 100% silicone oil in RC car shocks. You can even get it in whatever weight you want

I have the Super Lube grease and it looks like that will last me a good long time. I’ll get some of the more liquid-like oil to get into the gun.

Curious about this myself. Never heard of anyone adding oil to the foster fitting

I‘ve seen reference to this in a couple of places. Over on the Pyramyd air blog, Gaylord says to do it on every fill. Most say just every so often to keep the O rings freshened up. I just figured it was the PCP equivalent of putting a drop of oil on the CO2 cart before you drop it in. I hope I’m not just imagining this.

Don't sweat it...it won't hurt to apply a drop of silicone oil to the Foster fitting every once in a while, but it also won't help in any meaningful way. Foster check valves don't need lubrication, nor will the oil atomize and distribute elsewhere inside the gun.

So have I. I havent done it before but I dont see why it could hurt.
If you think about it, its really not much different than being a little heavy handed with the lube when doing a re-seal.
Seems kind of like an air tool, the excess just gets blown out .

Im going to give it a try.

I've used silicone oil sparingly on threads to stop them seizing (eg AA S200 cylinder ends). I've not seen any problems to date.

It’s not made up, metal to metal and silicone don’t mix. Just use gun oil on the threads. I have seen the damage first hand. My Mavericks bottle was getting hard to turn because of this and I caught it before it gulled the threads.

I think the best practice is to keep silicone away from your PCP. If you have an O ring in a dynamic setting, then a very little silicone based lube used on the O ring is probably fine, rolled in with your fingers so nothing is visible on the surface. In metal-to-metal connections subject to heat or high pressure it will cause seizing. It is not a metal lube, clean and dry is fine.

I guess the take home message is that getting the oil into the fill fitting is a 50/50 (or maybe even a 0/100) thing. It does seem like it wouldn’t hurt anything and may help keep the o rings lubed if it does somehow get through the gun. In the end, I suppose I’ll know if I get an o ring failure and then it will be time to open things up for repair. I’ll get a drop into the fitting every so often and leave it at that.
