I turned on my rangefinder today and it read err. I replaced the battery and it still read the same. Anyone else ever had the same problem? If so, then how does one fix it?
No, Josh; mine worked perfectly out of the box. The menu does need to be set up. For instance, you can select between horizontal distance (recommended so you can use zero angle per se) and true distance. Also, whether you want distances displayed in yards or meters, stuff like that. Consult your owners manual for troubleshooting tips. I've never got an err displayed.
Even after the dog ate the cover off the " on" button and the plastic around the eyepiece, mine still works just fine. It did take some time to get the dog spit off the lenses tho!
Josh, did you drop it or bang it up somewhere? Mine takes a fair amount of abuse as I carry it loose sans case in my rucksack along with all my other implements of destruction. Works like a champ. Maybe it just died. Time for Amazon.com
Jim, good suggestion. Believe it or not, when I used to work as an electrician, the guy I worked with actually discovered a brand new Energizer D-cell battery right out of the pack that had its poles reversed! Craziest thing I ever saw. Talk about a troubleshooting challenge! Who, in a million years, would think that was the problem?!
