Good day after market suppliers of top rails for the M4:

A simple plain top rail that mounted to the picatinny rails on both sides of the stock scope rail and extended far enough forward to:
a. Protect the top of the barrel shroud from hits, and
b. Protected both sides of the barrel shroud from hits,
Would be nice.
The current top rails require too much effort and complication to remove in order to grip the bottle and spin it off to de-gas the rifle for travel.
For those of us that don't mount anything on the top rail and use the top rail primarily to protect the shroud, it just needs to be simple in CNC design and easy to get on and off.
