I just purchased my first airgun rated rifle scope, it's an Hammers 4-12x40 AO and yes...it's made in China but it's all I could afford so it's mounted on my HW50S and I will attempt to sight it in tomorrow if I get away from work in time. I'll let you know how that all goes and if it last I'll keep you guys in the loop on that also. I paid a few pennies under $100.00 dollars for it shipped two day air, there's a lot of reviews on these scopes...many good...some bad just like everything else reviewed on the internet. It seems well built and is of quality material...but time and use will determine just how well. Oh and it came with a one piece four bolt scope mount with a stop pin which worked well with the rifle.
Since money IS an option in my world...

Time will tell, I'll be the test subject...lol I just looked back too, the total for that scope and mount shipped second day air coast to coast was $84.29...I had ordered a tin of pellets with it but canceled them before they shipped that was what had me thinking the price was just pennies under $100.00 If it lasts at all it will be a good deal.I've heard good things about that brand

Even if you had the extra money, I’d say ~$100 on a scope is exactly where you want to be.
I spend pretty freely on my airguns, but I’ve never spent more than $300 on a scope. If it holds zero, it’s a good scope imo, and I use my guns for everything under the sun. No one’s shooting an air rifle out to 500yds anyway, so at a certain point it becomes excessive. And in a lot of ways, the better the gun, the less you need a high-end scope to compensate, since the gun’s doing most of the work. I have a $120 scope on my Dreamline for example, and would never think of changing it out. So congrats on your purchase. And enjoy the HW50s, that’s what really matters here.

I had a Hammers 3-9x32AO mounted on an HW95 for about a year and a half and it held up very well. No problems at all. The only reason I swapped it out was because I wanted a more compact scope.
Mine also came with the one piece mount. They are good scopes for the money.

I have a Hammers 3-9x40 I bought a few years ago. Been on 4 or 5 springers now and all of them shooting between 17-20fpe and it's held up to all of them. No complaints about mine. Keep us posted.

Most likely, the only issue that you MAY run into will be if and when you start cranking on the turrets a bunch.
Zeroing, and fine tuning your zero should be no issue, but do not be deceived into thinking that you can click for different ranges over and over with impunity. Use your reticle for holdover and you will be golden.
I have never owned or used a Hammers scope, but I absolutely swear by the UTG SWAT compact scopes, and they are a direct competitor of the Hammers brand at that price point I believe. The UTG units are solid, reliable, and have always given good service for my needs. I suspect that the Hammers unit will be every bit of that as well.
Do not sweat the money angle. Get out and shoot your set up to see what it is capable of, and then operate within the rifles limitations.

Emailed Discovery a couple years back and traded a couple with Laura in their CS department asking which of their scopes were springer rated.
Her reply was anything in the HS / HD / ED lines for use on springers. Mileage may well vary but at least a starting point.
I have a Discovery and no complaints, but it's a VT-Z and on my Flashpup.

The hammers guy seemed to honestly answer the email questions i asked on a scope he said he could not recommend it instead of some sales pitch or whatever . If thats worth anything.

Well the Hammers didn't work out with the HW50, I suspect it has a bit of barrel droop, I'll check it but the scope cranked all the way up would just come to the bottom of the bulls eye and I was only shooting about 30 feet, I had to bring into there from 90 feet to even hit the box the target was on. I have a hatsan with dovetail rails so I'll try the scope on that rifle, if it turns out to be the scope I'll send it back. I'm not going to buy a droop compensated mount, if it turns out to be my rifle i'll use it on my Hatsan 95, that already weighs too much to carry and it's my bench shooter.

The most iv spent on a scope for my air rifles is like 250 most of mine have a 100 dollar Amazon scope and it does the job fine
