Anyone else noticed this besides me? I used to visit here often, but not log in, so they made a red box prompting you to log on not just on the first page, but every page you visit. If you scroll down and then click the X on the nag box to make it go away, it knocks you to the top. I use the forum in dark mode. Now they made it so every time you visit, it defaults to light mode and you have to turn it off every time if you are not logged in. Now they have compressed all the forums to the category only. You can expand them, but if not logged in and you return, they are all compressed. Obviously, this is an attempt to force you to log in and stay logged in. I'm not on FB, Threads, TwatterX, IG, Reddit, Whatsup or any of this other silly crap that tries to control me. This forum will soon be full of the above. If these issues persist, I will visit here less and less.

Why not just stay logged in and keep the setting that you prefer in cookie memory so it won't be a problem each time?

I'm having no problems at all. I view daily on my tablet. Signing on once a month for security purposes? No big deal if it increases safety of site for all of us!
Sorry for your level of frustration & that it's enough to drive you away. Personally, for me, a small obstacle is a small price to pay for the invaluable information & sense of community I find here.

All I need ia another site tracking my every online move only to sell it for profit. Most of the really knowledgeable members have already abandoned this site. All that's left is the "like/share" crowd who have nothing meaningful to contribute.

I am a Luddite, I read some on Twitter, X and Truth Social, but do Not post on either,
Facebook and all the rest are a no-go-to,,, had Whatsap just to talk to Zbroia direct, but quit them 4 yr ago

Most Forums have had similar falling out of the educated and once contributors .... While a few still hang around, the hard core true enthusiast conversations & product development / engineering threads have nearly all faded away.

People can find out more about your habits-spending and or otherwise-from going thru your trash than tracking you on line
the data collected from places like FB etc is NOT directly tied to you. Its aggregated into classes (region, sites visited etc) that are more valuable to advertisers than one person's data
