My questions revolve around compatibility between the two systems (epoch and evo ). In regards to the evo barrels I am talking about the ones with liners not the solid bull barrels. I think I remember seeing in a video that in order for the evo barrels to fit in an epoch the locking lug mechanism would have to be changed on the epoch ?? What about the standard evo barrel liners, will they just drop into the epoch shrouds and work ? Will complete epoch barrel systems slide into the evo and work ? Or would you have to put the epoch liners into the evo shrouds to make it work ? Thanks.

My understanding is that the Evo bull barrel systems can be used with the Epoch and the Epoch barrel system can be used on the Evo.

Have they done away with the liner system completely now? I know the LW bull barrel is solid, as are the Sub MOA barrels.

I've seen both the solid bull barrels, as well as the hybrid bulls with the carbon fiber outside on the website... hmmm... I would guess the locking mechanism for the barrel is the same, the question would be if the outer diameter is the same, as there's that retaining/stablizing o-ring down the length...? and some of that fore assembly is 'different' so... interesting question. hehe

The other option is the hybrid bull, but they say the that the carbon fiber outer layer is epoxied to the “liner”.

Because they say each barrel type works in both, I am making the assumptions that the outer diameter must be the same for the systems to work interchangeably.

The Skout service guide says that the ends on the new barrels are also fixed in place.

Dang so now you have to buy a complete barrel assembly instead of just a liner component. Kind of stinks from a $ stance. Maybe I will give them a shout tomorrow. I could swear I saw a video in which Luke said the lugs on the Skout barrel chambers were larger than the epoch therefore the ratcheting locking mechanism on the epoch would have to be replaced with an evo one. Just tossing around the idea of getting an evo. However the reality is that gun isn’t that much different than the epoch so I’m back and forth. The ease of interchangeability would help determine that. The only solid complete barrels being available bums me out. Appears the post office has either lost or destroyed my neutral 30 cal liner for the epoch. Didn’t want to spend hundreds on a complete barrel assembly.

The only differences between the Evo and the Epoch are generally cosmetic
I'll be waiting for the next...don't know when that is happening, but it gives me time to save for it

I haven't heard of any barrels being specifc to a model ..they should be able to swap no problem
which video are you referring to?
I know the there is a larger and smaller lug on the locking piece and the larger of the 2 is the down position ..is it possible you misunderstood?
I am almost positive that the barrels work for both Evo and Epoch without and addition furniture.
The only barrrel that requires an extra piece are the SubMoa barrels...You have to use a different locking coller, which is provided, because of the barrels diameter.

Skout is also using a different 30cal barrel made by ECR ..so far it has had better reviews than the SubMoa, which has been sketchy.
I'll be doing a deep dive on the SubMoa later this week and compare it to the LW bull..but i feel my LW will be very hard to beat

Terrible about losing your barrel ..I hope it shows up ..I had one stuck in customs for weeks, but eventually moved to it's destination.

About the 1:50 ish mark in the video. Shot show was pretty early on so it may have all changed.

Good evening!

Epoch Barrels and EVO barrels are compatible with either platform. No parts need to be swapped. That video is old and we found a way to make it backwards compatible. All EVOs come standard with the hybrid bull barrel, and we have the sub-MOA barrels as an upgrade option. We recently updated our website and have some good info and diagrams here. If you have an existing Liner system from an epoch and are interested in buying a new barrel we have released, please email us. We will accommodate if they are compatible with the Epoch shroud. We created the hybrid bull because through our testing we have found better accuracy and precision utilizing a solid carbon shroud around the barrel instead of just suspending them in a shroud. This system gives you similar benefits as larger-diameter barrels without adding as much weight.

Good evening,

I just want to clarify the statement regarding only cosmetic changes to the EVO. Although it does look significantly different, the upgrades to the evo were driven by user feedback and created to be an EVOlution of the EPOCH. The EVO's electronic package has been completely redesigned, giving users access to the battery and USB-C charging port without needing to remove the grip. We also put a larger display on the side of the grip to make it easier for users to change settings. The grip frame was also redesigned for better ergonomics and has a more refined grip. We also put the regulator's horizontally to reduce the height of the gun to make it better suited for PRS-Style events. The center of mass was repositioned to balance perfectly on the included arca plate, making it easier for users to shoot off a tripod out of the box without the need to purchase accessories. The EVO is also better suited to shoot slugs, we are utilizing the high-power valve and increased the regulator output to be able to shoot heavy ammo. The Epoch is a great gun, but we used customer feedback to make these changes and make a better version of the gun.
