SKOUT barrels

Supposedly these come with a type of teflon style coating that is supposed to retard lead build up. Also featuring less lands and grooves than standard LW or CZ. With 1/38 twist for pellets and about 1/14 to 1/16 for slugs.
Yeah I love that concept BUUUUUT we need to know the exact twist rate and bore's diameter. Otherwise shooting slugs will be the usual "try and prey" procedure

True, all I have heard thus far is the pellet at 1/38 twist. with 3 barrels coming as one "standard" , one labeled +1, other labeled -1. my guess is 1/1000 of an inch deviation either way. They are still developing the slug barrels.

Was playing around last weekend with the .30 EPOCH shooting both Pellets and Slugs threw the LONG .300 1-38 twist barrel.
Well the barrel LOVES JSB Hades and able to shoot them 100-120 yards quite accurately at @ 940 fps on 1200 psi

Playing with NSA 49 grain slugs it shot even more accurately showing no detectable accuracy flaws at the 100-120 yard distance.
Speed with the 49's was pushed at @ 950 fps on 1400 psi

Yea slower twist "SLUG" specific liners will allow weightier slugs to be shot, but honestly how many folks are going to hunt with these rigs & be needing to shoot such weights of 60 -70 grains ? The 1-38 twist shoots both stellar as tested thus far.

I'm blown away just how good the EPOCH shoots ( Granted mine has some valve tweaks & LDC mods ) finding for my use here on the west coast a 49 grain slug at near 95 fpe has more power than honestly required for any use I'll put the rifle too.

Ultimately will want it set up as a .22 or .25 dedicated high power slugger .... so for now like many, we're watching & learning.
