Skout Skout Epoch @100yards

While not my rifle or shooting it, good friend who recently purchased a Long barrel EVO in .22 sent me this group shot at 100 yards with JSB 25.4 RD's .... Very similar that is telling the crew at SKOUT have been busy refining there rifles

I am learning about "free Recoil" for my bag set-up..a little more to it than just plopping the rifle on the rest and shoot
In the photo, you see the silver wheel used for extending the buttpad ..I removed that assembly to allow for a smoother recoil
And filled my bags to be very stiff and rigid.
Had to use a metal bar to flatten the area between the ears so that it was level.
I have heard that it is a hit/miss when getting a rear bag for your set-up..you often buy a few to get the recoil you want
this edgewood bag seems to be working out for me just fine
any tips?
Mike
When I had my Skout I made a 3” wide pcs. Of Delrin in front and a v shaped pcs. For rear. That helps a lot for tracking and no binding.

Looking at your usually stellar targets, have you considered pulling a patch through yer barrel to see if those stellar groups return?
Sometimes a not-so-clean barrel will perform similar to yer pics, telling you to clean it.
Just a minor observation, of which I'm reasonably sure that ya already know, but thought to remind ya.

If it's shooting well, but with minor misses, perhaps just a single dry patch pull through might be the answer, just so that it doesn't pull too much out to induce re-seasoning.
Sometimes over-cleaning is not the right thing to do.
Although it seems that your routine may also be the answer as the previously posted groups were stellar.

Couldn’t the change in his groups also have been contributed to by a 10-15 fps change in velocity? i think I might go back to the 980-985 fps of the previous groups and see if they tighten back up a bit.

What prompted the change to 970 fps?
Hi @Chuck26287
Just testing things out
the 970 fps was my original settings...i'll jump back and forth to nail it down
The regulators make it very easy to do
