Skout Epoch - how great is it?

Own one ... played for a month or so with it .... waiting on smaller caliber ( .22 ) as the .30 is overkill for any practical use of the rifle otherwise outside bench rest work.
Super quality, VERY tunable & when we get other calibers VERY flexible too.
It is a BIG gun and a tad towards heavy, but knew that going in. It is and will be a long Term work in progress. No worries here, have plenty of other quality AG's to shoot & fiddle with too.

I too am somewhat surprised that there is not more BUZZ or feedback / videos etc being posted on the various platforms of social media
Appears 2022 Shot show had an uptick, as did 2023's shot show.

Honestly tho feel the $$$$ cost of there rifles at $3000 and best we know SKOUT not playing the freebee guns to web bloggers & video channels etc is a large part of this relative silence. ONLY a .30 cal at time of release certainly played into it as well.

So come on guys .. Have an EPOCH, share your thoughts being you have likely had some time to play & shoot with it.

I have one and am loving it!

I have 1, weather and time to shoot have been the only reason I haven‘t spoke up. last night, although super humid the wind was real low, not dead calm but pretty good. I agree with motorheads take, except I think it is pretty heavy, i wouldn’t want to take it out hunting unless i was a huge stud like AZ 🤪. Also I want to put together more proof because I don’t want to be that guy who spent $3k on an airgun so of course its awesome (daystate owner). i own a redwolf and a alphawolf, and sold a few others, so don’t hate on me for that comment. I wasted all my weight sorted pellets on crappy windy days lol. I don‘t like 30 cal too much, so expensive to shoot compared to 25 and 22. I have to say that this ag puts pellets in the same hole really frequently, there is something here, with my average skills and have owned alot of high end ags I think it has to be competition worthy. My favorite thing so far is the consistency, with temps from 30f to 70f different days my strings stay the same, unlike my alphawolf which can take 5 shots to settle in every time you turn it off or refill it depending on the tune. here is the 50 shots i took tonight (4300psi - 2400psi):

here is the targets (1 of my 5 shot groups must be only 4, probably that super awesome 1). 1st shot flier isn‘t a normal thing, not sure why but i never blame it on me, also had to sight in on that 1st target. the 3rd target i didnt take down is 7 shots with once again two shots in same hole.

Nice report. I don’t have any interest in owning a .30 and I have several air rifles that will shoot the 50 yard groups you are experiencing in both .22 and .25.

I am standing on the sidelines until the .25s and/or the .22s emerge and will watch what their performance is like for others at closer to a hundred yards before I make the plunge this time.

I do appreciate your response.

No need to wait for .22 or .25 if you have other barrels you already like, especially FX liners. Just send it to them and they will set you up!
Loving mine in .30 and .22. I have several other combinations to test but I am well pleased so far.
Tho ... hearing SKOUT can not provide a magazine for any caliber outside .30, that frankly kills it as a work around in shooting another caliber at this time.
As a PUP format, mag at the rear / butt end, single loading IMO is not an option.

I plan on buying one if I can gather enough money to do so. If I do I intend to do a proper review of it by putting a minimum of 10 000 rounds trough it from many different brands. Don't think I'll have the money to buy it this year though. So perhaps I'll have enough money once version 2 or their next gun comes out.

I'm really interested in the tech and the application for more specialized guns, like a gun that's basically the FX Panthera but with Skout internals. So once any kinks have been sorted and a new gun or new version of the Epoch comes out I should have the money to get one. Due to Finnish law the one I'd buy is the .25 cal.

I wonder if someone will 3d print a .22 wheel to fit the .30 mag, but the mag exit hole would be an issue I suppose.

Sadly housings will be specific to caliber/s
Being said calibers projectile pre-loading needs to be on a bore center line prior to insertion, not only does inner cassette need to grow in size / diameter slightly, the outer wall of housing needs to come inward an equal amount.

Well…indeed it does! Foiled again!

For those considering the use of FX liners, prior to their release, I did extensive testing of this format in .25 caliber and it did NOT perform well. I know that Song V is having excellent results using an FX .22 slug liner. You can check his videos on YouTube.

Some new information has been disseminated surrounding the .25 caliber Epoch. Without being more specific than is prudent, suffice it to say that a long awaited breakthrough has the .25 caliber on the brink of release.
The preliminary testing looks very good, and if results continue down the current path, we could see the .25 shipping before this time next month.

Although this particular caliber was the focus of my involvement, nothing I did had anything to do with this particular discovery. This break through was actually rooted in the work being done by those testing slugs.

So for those of you who have been chomping at the bit awaiting the release of the storied .25 caliber version, your long patience is soon to be rewarded.
