So how much of a problem, will using a mount that has 20 MOA built into present?Yes, It is a 20moa rail
My intended purpose is for target shooting mostly 50 yards and beyond.depending on how much elevation you have on your scope's turrets, a close range shot might be hard to zero
Yeah I wasn't sure of the rail when I bought the mount. Though the scope is an Arken 5-25x56. Hopefully it'll have enough adjustment. If not I'll get a new mount.might be close to bottoming out at 50.....i can't say for sure, but 40 moa seems like a lot to me
AFAIK the PM2 has 26 mils of elevation travel total so if bottomed out 26 mils up is all that's there, not including using the reticle for additional hold overs, or perhaps in conjunction with a wedge prism.Helped set up a buddy's SKOUT Evo with a SCHMIDT BENDER PMII 5x25 34mm tube.
We used an ARKEN 1 piece 20 MOA cantilever mount w/o issue.
As I recall his Zero was @ 38 yards and had no issue getting zero'ed.
The scope having just shy of 50 Mil's elevation using the zeroed turret, shooting out to 400 or more yards was just Click it in easy peezy using calculated D.O.P.E.
My bad ... scope was not in front of me ... was thinking 25 mil per rotation x2AFAIK the PM2 has 26 mils of elevation travel total so if bottomed out 26 mils up is all that's there, not including using the reticle for additional hold overs, or perhaps in conjunction with a wedge prism.
Putting 40gr Altaros Kings at 950 fps my app shows 21.8 mils for 400Y so I'm assuming 40 moa of scope angle/base combined with cantilever should be 11 mils or so of compensation.
Anyway that's cool shooting so far out just dialing and having enough down to sight in at 38Y!
It's part of the reason I got my March Genesis so I could do ELR using a normal zero because it has 86 mils of travel.
