Skout Skout-Returns

Nice. Do you mean I should order from Skout directly or do you have a dealer in mind.
Scotty, Glad I followed your advise. Darryl is building my 25 cal with a 35 inch barrel in olive and it should ship on Monday and as you mentioned they are also building a shroud and adapter for my FTX slug liner in 22 cal. These guys are extremely responsive, unlike most other air rifle companies with the exception of Utah Air, they are have fantastic customer support as well. Alkin Compressors out of New Jersey are also a great company to work with.

I’m glad to hear it, they are great to work with! The Olive color looks awesome, my brother also has that color.

Epoch .25, SKOUT has been great to work with regarding any questions and willing to provide upgraded parts/advice depending on your concern. Bottom line is, if you have an issue call them and it will be addressed. One of if not the best in the business when it comes to customer support and making customer driven improvements.

I had the same experience. You can call them and they are happy to help you. It's always something simple and they always know what to do.

Update, shot about 4mags thru the gun (15deg. First day) these were taken yesterday 35deg. And very, very foggy, two were 15 shots one was five. 34gr. jsb’s At 50yds last group was five and after shot realized when I went back into the house it was below hp reg. ( I hope explains the bad vertical )
It seems to like about 2 mags thru barrel after fully cleaned to settle in.

Also made a rear bag rider out of delrin.

I am very happy with my purchase of this rifle. It is quite loud I must say! Go USA…

I want to clarify something after returning to the house I discovered that I had not fully opened the air tank isolation vlv.! I believe this contributed to the vertical I was seeing? Especially the last 5 shot group which was directly after the last refill. Please make sure your isolation vlv. Is fully opened!

I'm having trouble with my new Evo .25. The HP reg started loudly leaking air above 2000 psi on a fill. I'll get up with Skout tomorrow and see what I might need to do. I can work on air guns, I own an Impact! Probably one of the 4 reg housing orings. There's no tech videos on the Evo yet so I just want to know if the Evo and Epoch regs are the same or similar. I'll bet they are.
Also, (and this might be a result of the reg problem), but accuracy is just not there with either JSB 34 MKII or Corbin Slugs and the 34.4" barrel. It tries to group but then shots go wacky. I might get 4 shots in a tight group then one goes two inches in another direction. I'll reserve comment until after I get the reg squared away; to be fair.

Regs are the same. The epoch reg tear down videos will apply. Should have any oring you need in your kit.

Is the leak of air coming out of the bottom of the HPR when filling?
How high is the HPR setting?
Are you using a micro-bore whip for re-filling?

I have noticed, and it is stated in the manual, that when using a slow fill whip to refill the air, it can cause the valve to not shut and air will leak out the bottom of the HPR. An easy solution is to do a dry fire when you start to hear the air leaking..will close the valve and can refill without further problem.

If your HPR is set high, and you go below that mark is when the leaks are most prevalent ..try to stay above HPR setting if refilling with a slow fill microbore whip

It seems to be coming out of the Allen key reg adjust slot on the HPR.

I do have a limited flow Air tank.
I’ll try your suggestions.

Firing it while filling did stop the "leak." Thanks for that tip. I went back to the manual and didn't see that micro whip problem. But it's probably in there somewhere.
while I'm at it, I know that the Epoch barrels have and incorporated teflon lining. But the Evo seems to be a standard LW liner. So is it OK to clean with Ballistol?

i have not heard of Skout using a Lothar Walther in a 34" barrel .. i thought all the long barrels are house barrels.
The Lothar Walther is the 25" Bull Barrel and is an additional cost
As far as cleaning goes, Ballistol is ok to use ..won't damage the barrel.

My mistake. I confused the standard barrel with the LW upgrade. The Epoch manual states not to use brushes or harsh chemicals in their barrels. The EVO manual makes no mention of this.

Some guys are saying that they are polishing their Evo barrels w JB cleaner/bore polish then waxing and I assumed that the EVO barrel is different and that it’s OK.
Not so sure now.
Thanks for the input, Mike.

I asked about this as well. Skout said they have a new xring that you can install that should help. I don’t have it yet. Contact them and they can send it. The other comments above about shooting it to stop the leak and then also the HP reg pressure being higher than the bottle are also what I was told. Apparently you aren’t supposed to degas the rifle all the time like with the Epoch…
