Taipan Slash

Only saw short video on YouTube by a Czech guy had to subtitle in English- it struggled. But what impression I got was valving similar to Huben, but different, 2 safeties, auto load? Not sure what that was. Ballpark 60,000 CZD or about 2,500 U.S. Big number, if accurate, but you know quality is there. Hard value. I’m totally waiting for a detailed video for confirmation. But I’m amped for this one.

I love Taipans and think this is a cool gun. But if it is $2500 its not even a thought for me then. What I love about them is quality for the dollar. I'm not a Semi auto guy so not 100% but I believe that will put it above all the other semis in price. I bet it'd probably be highest quality of them but man that's a big pill to swallow being I just bought a brand new Vet2 for half that.

Yeah 2.5k would be tough… it looks neat and all, but common taipan, it was said you were to destroy the Sith, not join them…

I don't think ( The Price ) that it will slow Marc down much If he decides he likes it enough ! LOL I could be mistaken but I believe he likes nice things .

My biggest question that I have is how does the trigger feel on this semi . If anything similar to there past models it would be jam up sweet . We will just have to wait and see . ( Or I will be waiting anyway ;))

Efficiency will be paramount on this. There's hardly any way to increase bottle capacity and everyone knows semiauto makes you waste ammo. Sure, anything can be done given time and money but then again it's going to take time and money. Lots of them. I would love to see RTI 1,1L bottle on the butt stock 😁

I hope their semiauto cycle is not too finicky about tune.

Very appealing. I'll start saving.

I’m not surprised by the price. I sure as hell would like it to be cheaper but it is what it is. All other top tier semi auto airguns except for Huben are $2k +. These semi auto guns are much more complicated to engineer and manufacture. I’m happy to see some innovation instead of another rendition of the poppet valve/ balance valve gun.

URAGAN 3 starting price is from $2000 n up , almost the price of the EPIC ONE. When the uragan 1 standard was 1,500 .. so I bet the new taipan will be in the 2k .. good for all the new in the hobby.. but for those who has a few, and not been able to sell either because is a buyers market . Or they really like what they have collected until now ..really difficult to justify another 2k spend in another toy , even when money is not the problem.. but before they go out I will put my hands in a epic one 700mm 22 - 25 .. the new taipan looks awesome, but I'm not a semi auto Guy .

I am looking forward to hearing about your opinion/adventures when you get one of these . (y)

You presume great things about me bud. I can assure you that I do love great things, especially in this hobby, but my wallet does not! lol!

For that price I would grab a Leishy 2 ...... that you know works and the aftermarket items are there. For a new gun, especially the first one from the company, that seems like quite a gamble for sure.
I have owned several taipans, still do. I have shot my friends leshey 2 REPR. To me it was no contest. Now I understand leshey has it's dedicated fan base, not trying to put down their opinions or try to convert no one. The leshey is just not for me. Currently, I have yet to not come to really like anything Taipan has put out. Taipan maybe slow to get to the show, but generally, when they arrive, they bring strong product.

Good point, I believe they addressed this issue with their "patented valving system". Lord knows what that may entail. BUT! If they do manage to produce efficient high power that yields great power AND a solid shot count per fill, then I see the justification of that price.

Just thinking to myself.....

I wish the Slash was higher capacity foremost, at least 15 per mag, but a positive is they are removeable. My Steyr ProX, has 10 round removable mags so two more shots isn't worth it to me to get a Slash in this aspect.

I like that the Slash is lighter weight because the ProX is a little heavy.

The supplied rail for scope mounting is high on the ProX. I didn't buy a lower one because I'm shooting it offhand half the time so my head isn't craned down which is nice but off the bench I'm chin resting not cheek resting.

Not sure if the Slash fires projectiles directly from the mag or if pushed through the mag into the chamber before firing. All I know is I'd rather not hear the pop under my ear with my ProX. If the former I hope they did a better job in this aspect in the Slash.

The ProX already has a good semi trigger but will the Slash trigger be disappointing, about the same, or an improvement??

Though I haven't had a Huben I like the action concept which the Slash should be somewhat similar too.
