Just one of those slow days where nothing was happening and not many birds show up to play. I ended up going to two permissions during the day hoping to get some trigger time. I only got one starling at each location which is super rare but it happened. So I pressed on and went out at night to shoot some rats but heavy fog came in and my night was cut short.

Still better than sitting in the office, lol.

Enjoy.

Max , slow days happen , I'm sure the wind & temp's had a hand in it . Lately my new shoulder has given me pain ( yes I've not given it the proper time to heal ) & I experienced a backward fall in the Man Cave . Xrays showed no damage ,so just muscle pulls and strains. That took me out of action for a couple weeks . I still drove to my barns to check pest movement though. I had very little at the buildings as the starlings were following the cow herd in the pastures. I figured the rats may be moving in the barns w/out cows tromping around , but not much there either. I went to the latest spot to find pigeons galore . Yesterday I went there to set for one of the several G-hogs there , still no action :( . But the pigeons were active ,so I switched positions and after a couple shots to gauge the wind I popped off 6 w/ my Evinix AirSpeed .22 & H&N Baracuda Hunter Extremes.I checked out the room inside the barn before leaving and found rat sign aplenty. I sat up a target inside & placed my stool at the likely spot & took a few shots to confirm the ATN 4K hold . May give that barn a night visit soon.Afterwards I did a late afternoon visit to barn no.1 and took one rat out . Now that silage harvesting is happening I think things will pick up as more feed will be available for easy picking .

You beat me, I got to my main permission, a few ground squirrels came out my .22 Mav Compact decided to go poof, and the slug figuratively fell out the muzzle. Checked pressure nope good, checked speed, nope ok, just sounded different, tried to get one at 59 yards but it just waved at me. Got it re-adjusted and sighted back in to 100 yards , one popped up and waved and left. We hung around for another 45 min and decided to pack it up, it was getting HOT. On the bright side I got my new Tequila pistol sighted in for shaky old guy standards.

It happens from time to time. I had to run to the ranch and deliver some of the owner’s stuff for his visit this year.
Tossed in the Bushbuck and the Maverick compact.
The Bushbuck was a given. It was getting shot because the 10th is opening day for deer in my area.
Usually the place is covered up in Collared Doves and Starlings. Two hours and I got one Collared Dove. Beat sitting at my desk doing paperwork.

@Contndr35BB. Definitely, but I tried to make the best with each outing and take it as it comes. I hope you will be fully recovered so you can enjoy yours days out at the range. Good hunting.

@HogKiller. Sometimes thing just don't line up no matter how hard you tried. But enjoy your time out in the field regardless.

@Chukar60. Lol, any time out on the range is better than behind the desk.
