I'm see videos about cleaning and lubing pellets and am wondering if you should also perhaps clean big bore slugs? Anyone have any info about this? I cannot find any threads about it. Thanks...
I clean my slugs when they pass through an animal.
Edit: On a serious note, I do not clean slugs. The slugs I buy don't come looking like they need any extra attention. They are well made and shoot to my satisfaction out of the packaging.
I have been buying pro slugs, Hunter supply, and Mr hollow point slugs that look they are good I do have some Seneca slugs that look like they could use a cleaning. Any suggestion on what products to use for cleaning?
Most big bore slugs you buy should be clean from being cast or swaged....The lubricant is very important too keep down on leading...Most big bores have rough barrels and need lube and frequent cleaning ..
Another alternative that I’ve been reading about is powder coating and sizing slugs. Thing is, I’m unsure if they need to be cleaned prior to powder coating. Again I don’t clean slugs or should I say I haven’t felt the need to clean any slugs I’ve bought. Griffin and NSA slugs come good to go. I also haven’t had any issues with JSB or FX slugs being dirty looking or feeling.
