Slug port damaged fx maverick

Hello guys, after a stuck pellet at the range, I removed my barrel and saw my pellet port is damaged. Not from the pellet but from a to tight screw.
Does this have a impact on my shooting?
Thanks...

Providing that screw did not push the port's bridge up into the breech, causing the loaded pellets to be physically damaged by dragging across it, then you should be fine. Test damage by sliding a pellet onto the breech, then push it back out to see if there are any damaging witness marks on it from dragging anywhere. If so, the breech port bridge can be easily fixed with a little fine sanding to get pellet clearances.

Edit to add:. It may be that the screw did cause the port bridge to be pushed up into the breech, and that is the reason why that pellet got stuck in there at the range.

That particular screw is just a plug nothing more, doesn't need to be tight, a bit of dope or silicon tape will seal the threads. Try to push a pellet through manually, with the barrel off you can do it from the barrel side if need be for orientation, some force may be required, but do it several times, you might be able to push it back up, take your time, worse case is a small file and some gentle work, it's just to stop slugs from falling through.

Hello guys, thanks for the response. The ports bridge is okay, pushes several pellets and slugs through the barrel and all where okay.
I had more double loads and it looks that this occured with the same magazine. This magazine does not click nice in the Maverick. The other one I have clicks in very nice. Maybe thats a problem??
Put the barrel in with a little bit lock tide on that plug. Friday is mij shooting day, let you guys know how it went.

I'm having the same issue, and....it's just started with one of my CARN mags, which was strange because it worked fine prior. I'm going to really start paying attention to which of the 3 mags it is, I've got 3 different colors so it 'should be' easy to figure it out and maybe remember. Oh it's on my Maverick .22.

Yesterday took the Maveric to the 50 yards range, and after 3 shots It was shooting like before. Nice mag dumps in a 1 inch hole.
Thanks for all the support(y)
You can do better than 1". Just have to find the magic pellet and perfect setup. That said, I had a few more issues with stuck pellets, even managed to break a few trying to get them out, it's like WTH. Took a .22 brass wire bore brush to it and ran it back and forth and round and round, manually, 'seems' to work fine now for loading, now I'm going back to get it tuned again after messing with it. Trying different springs and stuff. Never can leave well enough alone.
