FX Slug power kit pin probe + .22 Maverick issue

Hi Guys,

I am runnig in to issues with my slug power kit I got for my rifle.

When I install the pin probe at it's maximum length so that it clears for the mag when cocked, the pin probe doesnt seat my slugs (in this case .218 Javelin Gen 2 - 34 g) deep enough.
My slugs do not fully clear the slug transferport causing a lot of inconsistency issues (FPS fluctuates more than 100fps sometimes.). Also, the probe leaves a nice mark on the slug that also does not improve the slug I suppose.

I used an endoscope to get a better view of the situation, and this is what I found:

I cannot shorten the probe any more, because then it will cover even more of the transfer port.
I also cannot make it longer since it will then start to interfere with my magazine and it will damage the slug base even more.

I have to add that I am using a 700mm Impact barrelkit with a Superior Heavy liner at the moment, but I am having the same issues with my original 500mm barrelkit wil pellet liner.
The barrel inlets on the 700 and 500mm should both be p/n 19629 and should be cross compatible.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue?
Thanks!

I found the same thing in my Wildcat 3 Bt, it’s even more pronounced with pellets. I switched back to the stock probe.

Have you tinkered with your linkage yet? Next I might check about barrel adapter seating depth and see if there's anything you can do there. My last maneuver would be modifying the port on a pellet probe to do the best it can for me while unfortunately covering some of the front of the slug window transfer ports.

No garunteed remedies here, just ideas to try.

And that’s why their guns don’t come with a pin probe. If you want 10 or so more FPS, just turn up your reg a little.
Just slightly widening and ever so gently burnishing the edges got me 7 fps with a pellet probe. The pin probe was worth 10, and the projectiles can rock in there and jam up in mags. Next set of fits I have, I'm putting the modified pellet probe in again.
