Tested Griffin slugs in .217 and .218 in a Lothar walther choked barrel specs are for that barrel .215 lands and .221 groove ..217 is too loose and shotgun ...218 fit better but are inconsistent...Conclusion...stick with a decent pellet that has a skirt that engages the grooves..Barracuda 18.52 are Lazer accuracy for the lothar walther barrels..in .22 magnum springers..spent 8 hours in the field today testing the slugs weights from 16 grain to 20 and they do not group like pellets do .went on a light hunt after testing and switched to the barracuda at 18 grain and hit 4 squirrels at 50 and 65 ...The jury is out slugs are a waste of money to accurately shoot out of a springer. back to R&D to make a slug that can shoot minute of squirrel at any range ..
Slugs in a springer break barrel

It would seem unlikely you could get much advantage out of a slug on a springer. The barrels aren't set up for their needs. That said, if you can find cheap slugs that fit your springer, they'll probably be fine for short-range.

I tried the JSB Knock Out .177 10 gr out of a few springers and the results were very poor. These slugs work well in my Regal and HW44. Seems like a quality domed pellet is the way to go with a springer.

@intenseaty22 did some slug shooting out of some lower power airguns on his YouTube channel that you should check out. I believe there are a few companies currently working on slugs for lower power airguns (springers and 12-20fpe pcps).

They are a German made barrels but not LW!
8 grooves compared to 12 in most LW airgun barrels !
For a short while they even had 12 groove china barrels but realized there mistake and went back to German sourced barrels!
And as far as slugs go if really want to shoot them you have to try a bunch of different brands... All have subtle differences and have to find the one your barrel likes!

Yes they do but I don't really consider them a magnum! AAs barrels are fine tuned right from the factory. Awesome!

I watched your video. Are you saying that your TX 200 shoots the Zan 10gr slugs better than pellets?
