Slugs in the stock liner?

I have been told by several people including UAG and FX that there is little benefit to the heavy liner until you get over 25 gr.
My wife’s M3 shoots Zan .218 23 gr very well with the standard liner.
My M3 shot the same slug OK but not stellar. I put the heavy liner in and now they shoot very well.
I have seen people have great results with .217’s. Both my wife’s and my M3’s shoot .218’s better.
Enjoy the journey.

I have an M3 22 cal. 700mm. Now, for slugs, I have two boxes of H&N slugs, 217 and 23 gr. Is the stock liner OK or do I need to buy a heavy slugs liner to shoot?
The real rule is... "try what you have in the factory setup you have" . You could have "magic" with your setup and not realize it until you test it with all the slugs and pellets you are considering in .22 ... Heavy might not be necessary.
Share your tunes in your current parameters and then we might be able to suggest tuning options.
Realize, there is no magic bullet.
