slugs not tight 1st 1/4 of liner is this normal.

was getting ready to install this morning and pushed a pellet through then went to do the same with a slug and it dropped in 1/4 roughly
also tried 4 other brand slugs they all did the same thing.
is this normal? this is the 1/18 superior heavy 25cal 600mm 20071s.

I believe that’s called a “lead in” pronounced leed in. It’s to help the projectile orientate properly as opposed to an abrupt edge that could damage the head of the projectile.
 
No, that’s not right. You lost the FX liner lottery. Very common in .25, they just can’t figure that caliber out. I have a couple of liners that are tight and loose in several places throughout the liner. Won’t sell them because they don’t shoot for sh!t, so they hang on the wall. I’ve read on here where several people have had enough issues with .25 liners that they either went to .22 or .30.

as bad as i thought this liner would be it shoots incredible tight groups using AEA or H&N 32g slugs this one is a keeper.
