FX Impact .25 MK2 PP with 700 mm STX-A liner 1:27 here. Currently set @ 132 bars and 881 fps ES=4, PW at #1. Practicing/training at a range 50-100 meters and I have access to 200-300-400 M.

I have about 5K JSB Heavy 33.95 gr MK2's still left, but if I keep visiting my range with this tempo I shall be looking to restock in near future.

If I go slugs, I would probably go for even heavier as much I can fit the length into a mag (max length 9.87mm/0.388"), but most likely would need to upgrade the liner to a Superior Heavy as well.

(Currently me shooting and tuning @50 and the POI consistency is sub MOA expecting to open up for 100, but I still didn't do the liner indexing yet). But back to my Q.

Are there really benefits in scoring to justify a jump to slugs vs pellets at 100?

These slugs I can get locally, I see lately a new member Zan Projectiles, or what else?

Most competitions are pellets only. If you can get the slugs tuned in and they are allowed they would be the projectile to use because of the better BC. So better with wind drift and less time to the target both good things for sure.

My .25 700mm slug A liner loves the VK 34s and the NSA 33.5, 36, 36.5 and 38.5 slugs and will give you lots of .5 inch groups at 100 yards with them if you get it tuned well.

It also did excellent with the JSB 33.95 pellets at 740-860 and a little more fps. It started to loose a bit of accuracy around the 880-900fps but was still pretty good.

Funny thing is all of these were on the same tune.

Scroll down a bit to see several 100 yard targets with some of the slugs mentioned.

Somebody posted this a while back and I just made a screetshot for my own reference, I don't know anything about credentials or accuracy, because to prove the chart below need a lot of time, equipment, knowledge, and $$ as well.

I never had a chance to invest into liners and a variety of pellets/slugs, from day-one I am shooting a single size = JSB Heavy MK2's 34gr.

As I said in OP, I am just un-desided with purchasing a re-stock, repeat with pellets or better invest into slugs.

biohazardman Thanks for chiming in.

Second day testing JSB Heavy MK2's @ 100, pellets washed/lubed/weight sorted, still I had a decent number of fliers, the most probably do to a human error and this maybe a best time to clean the liner? or do a gauge check/sort?

Shooting groups of 10-12, the liner is still not index yet, the tightest group I got is about 1.5" but that gives me the most distant fliers
