Hey guys. Out of curiosity I removed the barrel on my .25 wildcat. When I held it to a light and looked down the barrel I saw some small pits just before the rifling. My groups are great at 50 yds, 1/2 inch- 75 just ok, and at 100+ not good. I've always used patches tied to yarn, sucked through the barrel with shop vac and pulled through to clean it. A couple wet patches using wd40, then some dry ones. I've never put anything else through the barrel. I usually shoot water bottles or apples at 100+ yds without too much trouble. I had surgery, took over a month off, just went back to shooting .I set targets up at 115yds where I shoot the futhest, apples etc. Using jsb kings and heavies had no better than 5 inch groups. I lube the pellets with napier. I don't know if the pitting is the reason for such inaccuracy. There's no wind. Has anyone else encountered this?
