My buddy bought a all metal Hammerli M4 .22lr copy, made in Germany, for under $300. I should have too. It's an amazing rifle for the price, and they are up to $400 now

If you shoot alot, the ammo from a higher end quality air rifle will be cheaper than 22lr rounds. In most usage cases 1/5 the cost or even 1/10 when discussing match ammo. Plus even the nicest target ammo for powder burners 20-50fps difference in speed. I have had airguns with only 2fps or less deviation through an entire magazine. Powder cannot due that period.

Case in point, a chronograph string of 1 full mag at 100 fpe out of the new Evol HPS in 20 degree weather. First mag of the day with the rifle at the ambient 20*.

It's not a fair comparison though; the markets are very differently sized. Prices can be much lower in larger markets.

It’s a bullpup, but the RTI P1 or P2.1 Compact with a 16” LW barrel would work.

The P2-1 in -25 gets nearly 80fpe. 77 according to the specs.

More advanced? I'm just saying take another Hammerli product, the 850 air rifle for example, also for the same $300. It was surprising to see how nice that German made all steel M4 was for 850 money

Not a bullpup? EVOL would be my guess. If you include pups, then there is the Vulcan 3, Huben K1, Kalibregun cricket 2 tactical, If on a bit of a budget, but will yield great service and meet the power desires. Of course there is the FX, Daystate, Skout items as well.

The people who make comments on the price of the Evol are always people who don't own them, yet people are ok with spending $2000.00 for a stock impact, then put $1500 in accessories onto it, only to have a rifle that isn't first shot reliable and doesn't really compare to what an evol is in terms of reliability/rugged build.
