So how long will this last........

So I found this on fakebook marketplace for $50 and figured why not as I only have a hand pump. Hopefully it won't give up the ghost till I can get a better one. Any advice on making it last besides not using 😉

It is new, yes I checked it out before paying for it story is they got it of ebay thinking it was an airbrush compressor.
Very nice, new is closer to $300, or more, $50 seems too good to be true. Biohazardman, a member most knowledgeable on small HPA compressors, states the water-less, oil-less compressors are good for 20-25 hours, or a year to year and a half. Following some of the excellent advice, so far offered, you should have no problem reaching that. Might want to consider a filter, another member just posted some interesting pics. WM

I have one of those big gold water/oil filters that I was using with my hand pump I'll switch it over to this little guy. I was really surprised how small the damn thing is after seeing some of the larger scuba fill compressors. I know they kinda considered disposable but I hope it does last a year or so.

Keep filter vertical, works best handling moisture that way. A year will give you time to save for an upgrade and sure beats hand pumping. WM

It is the base model of all the PCP compressors currently on the market.
It does not have an internal water/oil separator.
It does not have a water/oil drain valve.
It does not have cooling coils on the air lines.
You should use an external water/oil separator with these base model PCP compressors!

This version compressor can be found new, on eBay, Amazon and AliExpress, starting around $175.
These direct fill compressors are only meant for direct filling your PCP, not to be used to fill tanks.

It doesn’t require any external fans, like the Yong Heng, and will run fine until it doesn’t.
Once you notice that the compressor is taking longer than normal to fill, or making abnormal noises,
that is an indicator that you need to perform maintenance.
You can find replacement parts, on eBay and AliExpress, but the shipping cost can drive the price up enough to consider just buying a new compressor.

The following video demonstrates how to disassemble, clean and reassemble these base model PCP compressors.:
