So... I bought a used FX Royale

Here's a short story about a used Royale I picked up a while ago. I'm calling it Royale #2. The interesting story to this rifle is that it was reportedly not shooting well. Groups would be tight one day and open up the next day. Initially, I found that to be true. But, the groups tightened up relatively quickly and the rifle began to show its true colors... it's a shooter! And, it's a good looker too. I gotta say, I really scored a good one! The only modification I made to it was to take the OEM shroud off and replace it with a Huggett.
Of all the rifles I've owned, I would have to say the Royale in .22 is still my favorite rifle of all time. Better than the Impact, Crown, Wildcat, Streamline, Independence, Verminator, Bobcat, Revolution, .25 Royale, Boss, Edgun, Air Arms S-510.... you get the idea. I've owned all of those rifles and the good 'ol Royale is still my sweetheart.
Happy Shooting!
Tom

Good to here Tom!, simpler is just better sometimes,I to have a crown but just hasn’t come alive for me yet?, IT or I am not very consistent @ shooting yet( have tried just about everything?) , have no real confidence in this gun... my RAW’s shot from day ONE! You have to try to make them shoot bad! REALLY...,I will keep trying! Hopefully I will figure it out, and no I’m not purposely bashing FX, I do think certain guns fit certain shooters or style?

"jvrobert"I always had my eye on one of those, they seem like just all around extremely solid, well designed airguns. I ended up going with a Streamline (which I think is in a similar vein - not a flashy gun with every crazy feature but eminently practical, accurate, and dependable) but those Royales seem really nice too, and are certainly lookers.
The Royal is an extremely solid rifle. I could give it some more praise but, I feel like I would be redundant. (Hmmm... maybe a future video?) ;)
The Streamline is actually not based off the Royale. It's a new breech block system that shares similarities with all of their new rifles since the Impact.

great video.. I was having a prob ..with my lf rifleing barrel on my raw 177... just never shot that barrel enough...or well so I thought compared to my poly barrel...till I checked out my notes. as when I shot the lw barrel at 50 yards the groups were amazing for a 177 at 50. and it all came down to the prober amount of lead in the barrel..
the norm now is a get 10 shot groups of 12 mm ctc no problem with it out doors. so ag
eed leading and getting to know your barrel is imporant
