The RS's are really good guns. I had a regulated .22 that I could depend on out past 100yrds. I'm sure the .30 is sweet.

Just to follow-up on this - don't try to regulate your .30. It's a better rifle unregulated. When I had mine I went with a Huma and even doubling up on the plenum could not get both the power and, surprisingly, the same shot count as when unregulated. Yeah you gotta deal with the Korean vertical stringing but not an issue for hunting.

I've always liked the looks of the Rainstorm. Congrats! I don't own a RS but in regards to a moderator, the Donny Ronin works well on my Evol 30. I suspect it should do fine on your RS. Slugs? Wait for others to chime in otherwise, get a variety of slugs and test them out. I would start with some NSA sampler packs.

Well the RS is already shrouded, so you don't need and overkill moderator. I would look at a Huggett Mini Magna, the STO Falx, Huggett Astille.

I put a short stiff spring in mine ( 3” long .063 wire .48 Diameter.) ..and got this string with 44.75 jsb

I have an RS !! in .25 that loves my slugs. Oneshot is correct, using a shorter, heaver spring with give a much better shot count.
I love mine. Was able to source a nice thumb hole stock for it and it is vey nice
I would suggest a Neil Clague Reflex ldc or a DonnyFx. the shroud is virtually useless. Doesn't do much at all. But when a few bits are made for it inside and an added ldc, it is very quiet.
Only issue is with parts. It is much like buying a use car from a disreputable dealer. You buy it, you own it. No factory support w what so ever. None!
